So lets see whets on the plate today! been a while since my last update, quite allot has happened since then:

New Blog Skin

As you can all see, I got a new skin for the blog and I am very happy about it, so far feedback has been all positive, I snatched this skin from TF for a very good price, I hired vi5 (Andy) to code the skin and he did a good job, so what do you guys think of the skin? its about time isn’t it!

Wallpaperfreedom

I’ve decided to make wallpaperfreedom.com one of my main project for the 2-3 months to come along with one more project, I already ordered a skin and and the designer finished it the other, I am currently getting it coded, I’ll share a preview with you guys ASAP, I will also be looking for partnerships/advertising with/on similar websites, if you have a website related to wallpapers and desktop themes, please email me with your rates.

Pagerankincrease.com

I finished setting up the new website with the new content, I’ve got some potential clients sending in emails, mainly asking why does the website have a PR4, which is a kinda logical I guess, I usually answer by this is a new website and were still in the 1st months of our launch, so, I’ve delayed my plans for advertising the website and decided to do some link building and bring the PR to 6 at least before starting any kind of paid advertising.

Myspacerush.com

Myspacerush has been doing great lately, getting around 400 uniques per day and growing, were hoping to hit 1000 uniques per day in a month’s time.

Forumshock

My good friend Bryan Le has decided to donate 50% of forumshock’s profits to the United Way Charity Organization, how kind of him right? you can find more details about this campaign at his website, I would really recommend his service as a previous customer, so your not getting an excellent service only! your also donating to a charity!

Paid Plugs/Posts

As you noticed, Tyler paid me for a post about his new forums, I originally never thought of making any profit from this blog, I was also offered placing a banner on the blog, but I dont think ill ever do that, I’ll probably keep it to paid plugs only every now and then.

Hey all, this is Tyler Cruz. I bought this paid plug on Sohiab’s blog to advertise PublisherForums.com

You may have already heard about it, if not, PublisherForums.com is a new webmaster discussion community. The site’s slogan is “Intelligent Discussion for Web Publishers” and should summarize the site up well. After only about a couple of week of launching, PublisherForums already boasts 100 members and 917 posts (at the time of this writing).

It’s design is sleek and professional while at the same time being easy on the eyes. We’ve received much praise on the skin :)

Even your beloved Sohaib signed up, so it must be good, right? Right. :)

Anyhow, I’d appreciate it if you went and took a gander at it. The quality of discussion is very high and members are friendly and very helpful. I understand that there are a lot of forums out there now, especially with the recent releases of EarnersForum and WickedFire, but I feel that PublisherForums will fare just fine in the long run due to it’s simplicity, focus on discussion, absense of contests and thus absense of poor posts, and helpful community.

Well, I guess that’s it. Sohiab made me write this paid post so forgive me if it was written poorly :)

Blog design and more

Yes, I am getting a new skin for my blog, at last! I snatched a pretty cool skin from TF the other day and I sent it to vi5 from EF to code, I heard good things about him and some recommended him to do the coding job, it should be ready in 3-4 days, I can’t wait!

I’ve been buying some skins lately, not sure what I will use them for, but I can’t say no to a good deal, I bought a directory skin from TF as well the other day, I was planning to code it and install it on my new website directory however, I found another cool (free) skin so I decided to use it instead, so now I am looking to sell the directory skin I bought, you can see a preview of the skin here. And its being sold for $35 only!

I’ve started getting some new website submissions to the directory with almost no advertising, which is always cool, I am planning to do some major link building for the site and hopefully bring it up to a PR5 with the new update, which in turn will mean charging money for links, so if you haven’t done so already, submit your website now ;)

So what else is new, not pretty sure, I had a look over the links I am placing for other blogs, some were dead so those are gone, if you had a link there and for some reason your blog was down at the time I checked it, send me an email and I’ll place the link back :)

Pagerankincrease’s new design is finished and coded, its pretty simple, nothing fancy about it, just the way I want it to be, I am currently rewriting some of the material on the old website, the new website should be up and running in 2-3 days.

I met an old college friend the other day, we went out for some pizza and had an interesting discussion about a project we had in mind, he’s a web/graphics designer so that’s good! we will definitely need a designer in this project, I won’t release any details about the project now, but I’ve already registered a domain for it, and things seem to be going smoothly, however this would be a huge project and we probably will be looking for an outside investor. We’ll see how that goes.

SEO Salaries

A question in Kaleena’s search engine college newsletter lead me to a post on Kalena’s blog regarding SEO salaries, apparently, this is what the avg. salaries SEO’s get paid in the US:

Entry level SEO/SEM position = $30-45K
Three to five years experience / online account managers = $50-75K
Five + years / organic SEO specialists = $75-90K
Senior management level = $70-120K
SEM Director = $95-150K
VP Level = $100-200K (although there have been reports of offers ranging from $250-315K at this level)

Entry level SEO’s get paid around $10 per hour, these prices tend to become lower when moving to other countries, Canada’s companies are apparently the next biggest paying companies, Eurpe comes next. I am not even sure if there are other countries besides those interested in SEO/SEM to pay such salaries, I’ve seen some companies in Dubai and India, not sure how much they pay.
