Sorry for not updating the blog for sometime, I’ve been extremely busy the past week, at last I got everything arranged for the THB contest and it started yesterday, I had to arrange with all of the sponsors and make sure they are in, I also managed to get 3 more new sponsors, currently the contest prizes have reached $1000 in value.

On other news, pagerankincrease.com is now online and fully operational, I’ve written some custom articles for it and I am adding new content each week.

I’ve spent some time today writing a press release for THB to announce the launch of the upcoming contest, its almost done now, I just need to edit the name of the sponsor’s whom I have contacted today as well, I need to make sure everyone is on board before I announce it on the forum and before submitting the press release.

I will be using prleap’s distribution service to distribute the press release, I’ve heard good things about them, and they are cheaper than other press release distribution services.

Hopefully this contest will jump start the forum activity once again, and hopefully refer more active members, I haven’t had much time lately to encourage the new members to continue posting, I think I should look for a moderator to help me manage the forums.

I am also going to write a press release soon to announce the launch of pagerankincrease.com, I am still writing the websites content along with some related articles, once all of that is done I will submit the press release, and possible advertise the website on some forums.

Press releases are a good way to get back links, and with a bit of luck you might draw someone’s attention to your website, drive in some quality traffic as well, a well written press release is the key.

I’ve decided to join the seo contest webmaster-talk is running, as I mentioned in my post earlier today I registered a new domain seowebmaster.org and thats the domain I am going to use for the contest, I figured I should register a domain that I can use after the contest is over.

Any ways my retsambew dash klat for Charity website is up and running, I’ve already started optimizing it, hopefully I’ll find the time to continue working on it, the contest will end in Sep. so I have enough time.

 

You need to spend money to earn money, that’s the bottom line, I registered two new domain name today, one for another myspace project, and the other will be used for a content and a project that I have in mind, i still have to look for a domain name for the Humor website, which I bought the script for a couple of days ago.

I really need to start working on my current projects and stop starting new ones, I need to start optimizing my sites, and doing some link building for them, I already did some new link building for THB, hopefully I’ll get to at least a PR5 by then next update, I know PR doesn’t matter allot, but I like that little green bar

I am also planning to write up some SEO related articles and submit them to a few newsletters, press releases are another thing I am planning to do, I must start the contest on THB and announce it, I’ll probably write my own press release for that contest, maybe modify the one used to announce the launch of THB and modify it.

THB is about to reach 3000 posts, it should have been double that number, but I am happy with the quality of the topics we have there.

On a more personal level, I am planning to go to the movies this weekend to watch Ice Age: The Meltdown, I’v seen the 1st part and loved it. The 2nd part is definitely funnier from what I can tell from the trailer.

Someone today tried to send more than 7000 emails from p4h’s server, needless to say that caused lots of problems for the VPS, it brought most of the services down, his account is suspended now and probably will be deleted, the user on the forums said that he bought those emails from the internet, and that it wasn’t spam, lol!

Its funny that some don’t consider 7000 emails with the same subject spam.

Well anyways, glad nsvr found about it in time, I didn’t check on the VPS for some time, I didn’t have any time for the past 2 weeks and will probably continue to do so, that’s why I would like to thank Nick (nsvr) for his great contribution he has made for the p4h community.

I didn’t have much time lately to be around on p4h forums, I had some spare time today so I tried to catch up with member upgrade requests and moderating the forum posts, while browsing, the forum died, apparently from the lack of the allocated memory on the VPS, I had recently upped the Ram to 384MB to cope with the growing demand on the free accounts, but it seems that the whole server is running low on memory, probably other VPS’s on the same machine are using more memory or something.

I guess those issues have to wait for now, I really don’t wont to go through moving all of those accounts again from one server to another, its just allot of work

I’ve also had some idea recently of refreshing the forums with a new skin, the forums are doing great, but a new skin wouldn’t hurt at all, I guess that has to wait as well.

I’ve set my mind on a great script for a video website, you know the type of sites with funny videos in different categories, anyways the script that I found was way cheaper from the one I saw at the beginning (which was $150) this one has almost all of the features, and way cheaper, I’ve sent a pm to the script owner today and I expect to get the script in a day or two.

Domain Hunting

Now I need to start looking for a suitable domain name for this site, something creative and yet has some SEO potential in it. Any ideas?

This site has been doing great recently, it got around 3000 uniques last month and now has a PR4, sadly after adding the Google sitemap to it (I didn’t have a good feeling about it, but my partner wanted to add it) the website lost the rankings I achieved for it on Google, it dropped from the 2nd page to the 9th page I’ve read about some sites adding the sitemaps and then losing their rankings, that’s a lesson for the future I guess, the website is moving backup, but slowly, it initially dropped to page 11 after adding the site map, now its on the 9th page with results varying from one DC to the other, that’s of course after deleting that damn sitemap.

I am not 100% positive that the sitemap did that, maybe it went back in the sandbox, but that didn’t happen for a new site that I optimized for a client and it still have a page 1 rankings for almost the same key term.

Besides Google, the site has an excellent ranking on MSN, rankings on Yahoo and yet to happen “hopefully” I guess it needs some more work, and I’ll have to make some time for it.

There seems to be another PR update going, or has finished, it looks like that it effected all of the sites with a PR0, non of the websites with any PR had any changes, most news sites jumped to PR4 and this blog got a PR5, I did do some link building for this blog, but I did minimal if any link building to other PR4 sites, some are saying that this is all temporary, we shall see!
